The Winter Storm in Washington

Washington, Gooscript Brunt of a winter storm that hit the U.S. mid-west is moving towards the east, after causing the temperature is very cold and heavy snow the next stop traffic, causing thousands of travelers stranded and forcing schools to close.

National Weather Service issued a storm warning Monday, December 13, 2010 for most of Michigan. The warning said there will be strong winds, the range of view of zero, heavy snowfall and break the electrical connection.Citizens in these countries the central western and northeastern get ready to face the bitter cold wind bone, rain and snow.

As reported by voanews, severe weather forced the cancellation of more than 1400 flights at O'Hare airport, Chicago. Major highways were closed in five states, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

In Minnesota, the accumulated snow load caused a fiberglass roof of the stadium collapsed Minneapolis Metrodome. An NFL Football League game was moved to Detroit and postponed until Monday because of the collapse of the roof.

Meanwhile in the northwestern United States reached a record rainfall. The roads under water in certain parts of Washington state, where flood warnings still in effect.
